Hotel majlis sets — Arabic calligraphy for rooms, suites and lobbies
Last updated 11 October 2026.
The Calligraphy Gallery makes Arabic calligraphy décor and guest gifts for hotels in the UAE: a six-piece majlis set for the room or suite at AED 570 a room at the corporate list price, calligraphy pieces and wall art for the lobby and the majlis, VIP welcome gifts with the guest’s name, and the pieces hotels dress their lobbies with for Ramadan, Eid and National Day. Everything is cut, engraved and finished in our workshop and inspected in Sharjah, with one supplier, one delivery (AED 25 per order to one UAE address) and one invoice. Volume pricing is one published ladder, worked on each item line (a piece in one size) at its own quantity: 10–24 pieces 10% off, 25–49 pieces 12.5%, 50 or more 15%; the dallah and delivery are never discounted. The written quotation shows the price at your room count.

What hotels order from The Calligraphy Gallery
In the room: the majlis set
The Emirati welcome a guest knows — coffee, dates and a word of greeting — as six pieces for a room or suite, set on the room’s table: a serving tray, a dates box, a tissue box, a glass bowl, a napkin holder and a mabkhara, each cut or engraved with a line the guest reads: «حياكم الله», «أهلاً وسهلاً», «رمضان كريم», or the hotel’s own greeting. The set is used again at Eid and next Ramadan; acrylic is wiped clean and stored flat.
In the lobby and the majlis
A Large serving tray for the coffee station (AED 175), the golden brass dallah engraved with the hotel’s greeting (AED 195), and Arabic calligraphy wall art for the lobby, the corridors and the suites: a line of poetry or a welcome, composed in the script you choose and printed on canvas, framed with or without acrylic glass, from AED 65 rolled and AED 105 framed at A3. Larger sizes and a calligrapher’s signed original for the lobby wall are quoted in writing.
For VIP guests and delegations
A dates box with the guest’s name engraved in calligraphy (AED 200), a framed name piece (AED 185), or the room set with the hotel’s name on the lid: a welcome gift that is made here, not imported, and that carries the guest’s name in Arabic. Send the names as a list; the artwork is composed for each.
For Ramadan, Eid and National Day
The Ramadan Kareem and masjid sets, lanterns and the greeting boxes dress lobbies and suites for the month; the dates boxes and trays go on the iftar tables; for National Day, the pieces carry the UAE’s greeting. The purchase-order dates for each season are below.
At the gala, the iftar and the conference: a calligrapher at the table
For a gala dinner, a Ramadan evening in the majlis or a conference in the ballroom, The Calligraphy Gallery also brings a calligrapher who writes each guest’s name in Arabic calligraphy in front of them, on place cards, gift tags or envelopes, from 2 to 8 hours: live calligraphy at your event, quoted in writing within one working day.
The six-piece set, per room or suite
| Piece | Size | AED |
|---|---|---|
| Serving tray, Medium, engraved | 40 × 25 × 4 cm | 135 |
| Dates box, Long, three compartments, cut lid | 30 × 10 × 8 cm | 115 |
| Tissue box, Medium, cut lid | 24 × 13 × 7 cm | 110 |
| Glass bowl, Small, cut lid | Ø 15 cm | 60 |
| Napkin holder, cut calligraphy | 13 × 11 × 5.5 cm | 60 |
| Mabkhara, cut pattern | 9 × 9 cm | 90 |
| The set | 570 |
Optional: the dallah (golden brass, 600 ml, AED 195, never discounted); a Large tray for the lobby (AED 175); the hotel’s name cut into the dates-box lid, or on the dallah, quoted in writing. The calligraphy is one the guests read — «حياكم الله», «أهلاً وسهلاً», «رمضان كريم» — or the hotel’s own greeting.
The volume price, worked per item line
Each item line is one piece in one size at its own quantity, and the discount follows that line: 10–24 pieces 10%, 25–49 pieces 12.5%, 50 or more 15%. Thirty rooms means thirty of each piece, so every line of the set takes 12.5%; fifty rooms takes 15% on every line. The dallah and the delivery fee are never discounted. The numbered quotation prints each line before and after its discount, then the total, so procurement sees the arithmetic. On the store the same ladder is available as codes at checkout (MASHQ-VOL10 from 10 pieces, MASHQ-VOL12 from 25, MASHQ-VOL15 from 50), counted on the pieces in the cart.
Your hotel’s name on the pieces
The dates box and the dallah can be chosen to carry the hotel’s name, at a fixed price. The name is composed in Arabic calligraphy by Mashq Studio, in the script you choose, and sent to you as a proof before anything is cut; a logo is engraved from a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF). The hotel’s name on the dates box makes the room’s set the hotel’s, not a bought-in decoration.

Questions hotels ask
Can the pieces carry our hotel’s name or logo?
Yes. The dates box and the dallah carry the hotel’s name at a fixed price; a logo is engraved from a vector file. Any other piece can be customised on request, at an extra charge quoted in writing. You approve the artwork before anything is cut.
Is there a minimum order?
No. One suite or every room. From 10 pieces of a line the volume ladder applies: 10% at 10–24, 12.5% at 25–49, 15% at 50 or more, worked per item line; the written quotation shows the price at your room count.
How long does an order for 50 rooms take?
10–14 working days from artwork approval and payment, plus two courier days to your address. For Ramadan 2027 the purchase order must reach us by 13 January.
Can the pieces be cleaned and reused?
Yes. The acrylic is wiped clean with a soft cloth and stored flat; the dallah is brass. A set bought for Ramadan is used again at Eid and next year.
Do you deliver to every emirate?
Yes, to one address anywhere in the UAE for AED 25 per order; several addresses are quoted. Worldwide express is the shipping rate shown at checkout.
Can we see the pieces before we order?
The Majlis Catalogue shows every piece with its sizes and prices, with photographs, in English and Arabic; a sample is made first on request. There is no showroom: every piece is made to order in our workshop.
Guides for hotel teams
Three guides on our journal: Arabic calligraphy in hotel design (what four UAE hotels did, and what any hotel can copy by the door, on the table and in the lobby), Ramadan 2027 in hotels (floor by floor, what comes back for Eid, and the dates) and the Emirati welcome as a hotel amenity (the ritual, the five greetings and what they mean, the VIP box with the guest’s name).
See the pieces: serving trays, dates boxes, tissue boxes, calligraphy paints, the majlis table. The full range with sizes and prices, and the hotels edition with the set per room and the Ramadan dates, is in the Majlis Catalogue (sent to your work email). Every company question — lead times, artwork, invoicing — is answered on the corporate gifting page.
