«الضيف عزيز» — “The guest is dear.” The Gulf's rule of hospitality in two words. It sits on the majlis table facing the door, so the guest reads it before the coffee arrives, and it is the tissue box most often bought together with the «حياكم الله» tray. On a tissue box cover it faces the room from the table, the phrase you read while reaching for it.
Which tissues it takes: a rectangular tissue box, slipped in from underneath. Inside, the cover is 23 × 11 cm and 7.5 cm tall (24 × 12 × 8 cm outside, 5 mm walls), so measure yours: the long flat boxes fit, cube boxes do not.

▸ Why is the tissue box more than the tray?
Because it is five faces, not one. A tissue box is five pieces of acrylic cut, edged, engraved and assembled into a box that has to sit square and lift cleanly; a serving tray is one sheet with a rim. The tray is larger and costs less for that reason.

▸ How do I look after it?
Wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth (microfibre is best) and lukewarm water or a little mild soap, in straight lines. No ammonia glass cleaner, no scouring pad, no paper towel: acrylic scratches more easily than glass. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat — a stove, a heater — which can warp it.
